Water Kefir & 2nd Fermentation Sediment?

I have added fresh cut up cherries to flavor the 2nd fermentation. I let it sit on the counter for 24 hours and then strain and store in fridge. Recently I have noticed some sediment in the bottle. The kefir is still tasty but can someone explain what the sediment could be?
Update...when the cherry water kefir is strained again the sediment isn't there anymore. It does return after sitting though.

That sounds quite typical for second ferment with fruit. It's just a natural yeast byproduct of the fermentation. It's harmless, but you can possibly strain it out if its excessive. Cherry water kefir sounds delicious. I gotta try that soon.
