24 hours or 48 hours?

Hi there! I started the fermentation process with my water kefir grains. Somewhere I read that If I ferment the water kefir for 24 hours, it would serve as a laxative, but if I ferment it for 48 hours it would serve more as an astringent.
I wanted to know if this is correct or not. I want to use it as a "laxative".
