Can Kefir milk inhibit Listeria?

Since Listeria poisoning in the news again............

I was wondering if Kefir milk inhibit Listeria?

A quick internet research reveals more info than not that Keir can inhibit Listeria?

Does anyone have the time to research and collect any studies that are pro or con?

Here's an article about milk kefir that lists a few studies on listeria and other harmful pathogens.

There seems to be somewhat of a mixed opinion with listeria as some studies show that it does inhibit listeria while one study shows it did not. Most everyone agrees that kefir does have a very strong ability to inhibit pathogens, but it seems like there needs to be more research on the extent and specifics.
