Will different strains/families of water kefir grains product different tasting water kefir?

That's a good question. I would say yes you certainly can have different tasting water kefir. It is hard to say if the grains have different strains or if some strains are more active than others in a particular set of grains. Or maybe the yeast is stronger than the bacteria or vise versa making it taste quite different. Whatever the reason, you can certainly have different tasting results. Grains will adapt to their environment though and eventually no matter how different the grains are to begin with, they may change into a new type of grains based off the environment.
